Course Overview

AutoCAD for New Users is our most work-intensive entry-level program, specifically designed for students who have low or no experience with the software and need additional practice to become proficient with AutoCAD 2027 (or earlier versions).

Course subjects are similar to AutoCAD Fundamentals, but this level is more work-intensive, focused on hands-on, practical drafting to help new learners gain expertise and confidence in their CAD drafting skills. This course offers additional practice materials and exercises not included in AutoCAD Fundamentals.

Recommended for new users who need the extra repetition, step-by-step guidance, and project-based practice that accelerates the path from beginner to competent professional drafter.

• Complete AutoCAD 2027 interface and workspace mastery
• Drawing and editing precision 2D geometry — extensive hands-on practice
• Layers, linetypes, colors, and object properties — applied to real project exercises
• Dimensioning, annotation, and text — professional standards through repetition
• Hatching, fills, and drawing presentation techniques
• Blocks, block attributes, and the block editor
• Dynamic blocks with parameters and actions
• External references (Xrefs): linking and overlaying drawings
• Layout tabs, paper space, and multi-scale viewports
• Sheet sets and batch plotting
• Additional practice drawings: architectural, mechanical, and structural exercises
• Speed and accuracy drills — building professional muscle memory
• Final project: complete 2D drawing set from scratch
